As part of the Academic Leadership Training on Innovative Transformation for University Development and Empowerment (ALTITUDE) program, 34 Distinguished Professors from 16 faculties of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) visited PT Golden Tekstil Indonesia (GTI) at the Kendal Industrial Park, Central Java, on May 6, 2026. The visit aimed to enhance academics’ understanding of industrial development while fostering stronger collaboration between universities and the business sector.

The delegation was welcomed by Mr. Yin Weilu (Head of GM Office), Mr. Evan Beta (HR Manager), and Mr. Rinaldy Harahap (Administration Manager). As one of Indonesia’s integrated textile manufacturers, GTI was selected as a destination for industrial learning due to its commitment to innovation, operational excellence, and sustainable human resource development. During the visit, participants received an overview of GTI’s business profile, production processes, and technological advancements implemented throughout its operations. The presentation highlighted the company’s commitment to maintaining high-quality standards, improving efficiency, and adapting to the evolving demands of the global textile industry.

The professors also gained insights into how technology and innovation contribute to modern textile manufacturing, from production planning and quality control to workforce development. These discussions provided valuable perspectives on the challenges and opportunities facing the manufacturing sector in an increasingly competitive and technology-driven environment.
