Learning about the industry is not only about studying in the classroom. Through direct experience, students can see how the knowledge they learn is applied in a real work environment. This was the spirit behind the industrial visit of SMK Harapan Mulya to PT Golden Tekstil Indonesia (GTI) on Monday, 13 July 2026. A total of 49 Grade 12 students from the Computer and Network Engineering (TKJ) program, accompanied by three teachers, visited GTI to learn more about the textile and garment industry. Learning about the industry is not only about studying in the classroom. Direct experience gives students the opportunity to see how a company works and how knowledge is applied in a real workplace. This was the spirit behind the industrial visit of SMK Harapan Mulya to PT Golden Tekstil Indonesia (GTI) on Monday, 13 July 2026. A total of 49 Grade 12 students from the Computer and Network Engineering (TKJ) program, accompanied by three teachers, visited GTI to learn more about the textile and garment industry.

The visit began with a welcome speech from Mr. Evan, HR Manager of GTI, followed by a plaque presentation from the representative of SMK Harapan Mulya. The students then attended a company profile presentation, where they were introduced to GTI’s background, business activities, and the company’s role in the textile and garment industry. This session gave the students an initial picture of how a company operates and the different activities that support its business.

After the presentation, the students had the opportunity to experience the working environment directly through a factory tour. They visited several areas, including the Sample Room, Garment, Handloom, and Showroom. During the tour, the students could observe various activities and processes more closely, while also seeing how different parts of the business are connected to support production and product development. The factory tour also became an opportunity for students to ask questions and gain new insights about the industry. Seeing the workplace directly helped them understand that entering the professional world requires not only technical knowledge, but also discipline, teamwork, communication, and the ability to adapt to different situations.

For the students, the visit provided a valuable experience to connect what they learn at school with real activities in the workplace. It also gave them a broader view of potential career opportunities and the skills they may need to prepare for the future. For GTI, welcoming students through industrial visits is part of the company’s commitment to strengthening the connection between education and industry. By opening opportunities for students to learn directly from the workplace, GTI hopes to contribute to preparing a young generation that is more familiar with the industrial environment, ready to learn, and better prepared to face the world of work.
